Parallel Migrations: Dream Journey II

Kingston Sculpture Biennal 2009

Parallel Migrations: Dream Journey II is similar in concept to works the artist has created in France and the US. It references personal, spiritual and physical  journeys. For the current installation the artist uses her signature image of the Monarch butterfly as a trail markers. Nestled in trees and rocks, the butterfly clusters are refurbished from earlier installations These images lead visitors from the entrance gates of Rotary Park up the pathways and to the right of the pond to a gazebo overlooking the Hudson River. Here visitors  will find a

unique sculpture, a sanctuary incorporating found and recycled materials. The artist’s work, always a journey of discovery and surprises invites the viewer to contemplate the arduous and lengthy journeys of the Monarch butterflies each year as well as to the exploration of the river by Henry Hudson four hundred years ago.
